GEAR UP Summer University 2008 GEAR UP Summer University Residential Program will begin June 8, 2008 and continue until July 25, 2008. The program will offer seven one-week sessions for students from the various GEAR UP-ST. LOUIS High Schools. They will have the opportunity to live at the University of Missouri St. Louis campus for one week, and participate in college tours, college preparation and planning, mentorship programs, and multimedia projects. The goal is for students to acquire the knowledge, skills and information that will allow them to be more responsible and improve their academic skills. Planting
Science has teamed up with
the Missouri Botanical
Garden to offer a fabulous opportunity for Gear-Up
students, families and their teachers. This program
is targeted at the 10th grade biology students who will
participate in hands-on scientific inquiry units on
either Seed Germination or Photosynthesis. Teachers
can learn about the tools they need to be successful
with inquiry in the classroom through a specially designed
summer workshop, and the whole program will culminate
with a student and family scientific summit at the Missouri
